Mechanismen zur Regulierung des Temperatur sind beispielsweise:

Erhöhung der Transpiration zur Abkühlung des Körpers (Schwitzen des Menschen, Hecheln des Hundes).
Wärmeisolierung: Federn und Daunen bei Vögeln, Fell bei Säugetieren, Fettschicht bei Walen und Robben.
